Mr Think Talk is someone who goes around town calling himself the greatest motivational coach in the world.
You would think that most people would want to go to a seminar and be taught by the greatest motivational coach in the world but not so.
At first I thought it was because of the reputation of the name Ron Bishop so I promoted my seminars under the name Mr Think Talk but it did not make any difference people still did want to go to the seminars.
Then I thought it must be the price of the tickets so I offered some free tickets and still I could not generate any interest.

Think Talk University
I am convinced that people desperately need my coaching because I know how to coach people on how they can use their brain to reach its full potential
One of my goals is to start a University for parents and their intellectually handicapped or badly behaved children. In my University I would also like to have animals and encourage children to bring their pets with them to school. Animals can be a great healer that calm children and parents down during periods of stress.
Yesterday I inspected an ideal place for the University it’s an Intermediate School that has been discarded by the government. There are many such schools around New Zealand because of the Labour Governments policy and it would great if we could buy the school and bring it back to life again for special needs children and their parents.

Funding & Students
One of the things I need is funding and while there is plenty of money out there I don’t have the time to go begging for money. The other thing I need right now is some children and their parents to test my new Think Talk program out on and again I don’t have the time to go and beg people to come to a Think Talk Seminar.
There is only one of me and right now I’m OK. I’ve got all I want I don’t have to work so my selfish side says why worry about other people.
The truth is I love people and I know that I have developed something that can changes the lives of many families if they would only reach and and ask me to help.

One of the reasons I am having difficulty getting people to attend my seminars is because no one knows what it’s all about.
They have never seen a preview of the show or spoken to anyone who has ever been to one. That is because no one has ever seen a Think Talk family seminar because the concept is all brand new.

World Famous
I knew that to be successful as a professional motivational speaker I needed to somehow get the worlds attention by becoming world famous. After I broke my world record as an indoor rower I made a DVD recording explaing how I achieved my goal. I sent copies of the DVD to a couple of companies who hire out speakers. Their motivational speakers are mainly famous celebrities and it’s the name of the celebrity that they sell more than it is the content of what the speakers talk about. Some people seem to get a thrill out of being in the presence of a famous person. I don’t judge people by their status in life I think we are all equal and you can normaally tell the chactactor of a person by their handshake rather than their celebrity status.

I sent a copy my DVD to a speakers bureau in Auckland and they just threw  in the rubbish because they could not believe that a 67 year old debt collector living in Timaru a place where hardly anyone in Auckland has ever heard of could ever be worth listening to.

Creative Ideas
To launch my Think Talk seminar in Oamaru a local TV station 45 South interviewed me in a 15 minute interview and it was very good. I got so excited after watching the interview that even I wanted to attend the seminar myself.
45 South is just a new Television station that does not yet have a very big audience but that is OK because its like me its just getting established.
I’m a bit like Sir Winstone Churchill I do most of my creative thinking at night. During the day I will often stop on the side of the road and have a cat nap. Last night I was wondering how I could get my my important message out to the public. How could I tell them that I was having a Think Talk family seminar at the Grosvenor Hotel in Timaru on Wednesday 28th May 2008 at 5.15 PM. How could I tell them that it costs $100 for a single parent family and $150 for a 2 parent family.
How could I tell them that single adults who were Grey Power or Rotary Club members were $200 and poor people were free.
Then I had this brilliant idea. Why don’t I take the DVD recording of the interview I did with 45 South Television and play it at various locations around Timaru so people could get an idea of what Think Talk is all about.

Imports
Many Australians read my articles on both my websites so if they read this one they could still have time to get here before Wednesday and Auckland people could fly down as well. We do have an airport and it’s named after Richard Pearse a man who used Think Talk to build the first Aeroplane. They could have a look at the first flying machine in the world while they are hear. I could even take them out and show them where the worlds greatest racehorse Phar Lap was born.

Preview the Show
Getting back to the family seminar I thought I might call and see some of my friends at the local hotels and see if they will put an add in the Timaru Herald inviting people into their Hotel to see a preview of the seminar.
I could take the DVD around the hotels on Tuesday and by the time Wednesday comes all the tickets to the worlds very first Think Talk family Seminar hosted by Mr Think Talk himself who is the Greatest Motivational Coach in the World will all be sold out.
25 tickets is not a lot to share amongst families it could only be 6 families.

There will be more seminars but there will only ever be a worlds first. Many years ago I was a shepherd on a sheep station and in one of the paddocks was a swamp. Some sheep would go into the swamp for a drink and get stuck in a bog. I would pull the sheep out of the bog put it on dry ground facing the lush green pasture and as soon as I let it go it would turn around and go straight back in the bog.

A clairvoyant
A women phoned me one day and said she would like some one to one personal motivational coaching. I enquired as to why she wanted the coaching and she told me she was a clairvoyant and wanted to travel the world teaching people about what their past life was like and what it will be like in the future.
I warned her that I was a Christian but she assured me that was no problem because she beleived in God as well.
There were 7 weekly lessons in the personal self developmet course and on the 5th lesson she asked me to teach how she could become the best clairvoyant in the world. I could of done what she asked but I refused because her life was a mess.
She had a broken marriage and was living with a man she called her partner. Her children she did not speak to her, she did not get on with her partners children, she had broken relationships with her work mates and her boss.
I told her that all her problems were spiritual ones and that she needed to get her own life right with God before she started destroying others with her superstition. She never came back to see me.

Telling it like it is
I dont pull any punches with people I tell it like it is and that is not always what they want to hear. I had told this lady the truth and shown her green pastures but she had turned around and went straight back into the bog.

Finding the right leader
Those who have handled sheep will know that if you have a mob of sheep in a pen and you open the gate to let them out into green pastures they will run around the pen and none of them will go through the open gate.
All of a sudden one sheep will walk slowly towards the gate, see the green pastures and find the courage to go through the gate and then all the other sheep will follow. Some will even skip as they follow their leader.

Yesterday I sent out an email to all the people on my prospect list that I had chosen to attend the launch of my new Think Talk Seminar in Ashburton.
It was called the crowd is wrong and I explained how my first email asked people to confirm whether or not they were coming to the seminar and only one person replied. After yesterdays email 3 more people replied and it was interesting to note that yesterdays replies were all from successful leaders.
One lady lived in Auckland but she could not understand why I expected her to come to Ashburton to a Seminar. This lady does not know it yet but one day she may be begging me to come and talk to her and her clients in Auckland.

The other 2 people that replied were already my clients. They have both been to my seminars and listened to my CD on “How to Think Like a Winner” One of them has been through my 7 week personal self development course and is reaping the rewards from what I have taught him.

These 2 people are both good leaders in their own field. They became good leaders because they took the time to learn the success principals from someone who knew more than they did.They had the courage to go through the gate. They are experts in their own field yet they humbled themselves enough to say yes I will come and listen to some words that may help me grow as a person.

Dont you get stuck in the bog. Move away from the crowd and go and find someone that knows more about self development than you do. Absorb the knowledge and learn the skills that will make you a great leader.

Negative attitudes are not only the cause of all peoples problems but they are contagious and are killing many communities. I have been practicing the art of having a positive mental attitude for many years and the more positive I become the more negatives I see in others. Negative thinking people do not realise they are being negative.

Promoting Timaru
For several years I have been trying to promote Timaru but have been battling people with negative attitudes. Last week I went to Ashburton to help promote their town. I could not believe how positive the people were up there and they all supported what I was trying to do for them. A journalist from the local daily newspaper the Guardian even wrote a story about the work I was doing in trying to change attitudes.
A reporter from the Mid Canterbury Herald also wrote a story about my effort to promote the Ashburton district but the Editor of the Newspaper happens live in Timaru and she refused to print the article.

Everyone losers
Because of the negative attitude of the Timaru Herald Editor the readers of the Mid Canterbury Herald have been deprived of some positive information. The journalist who wrote the article has waisted her time and I’ve waisted my time in helping her with the article.
